About Maximus RP
Maximus RP is an independent roleplay game. We build the game, run the servers and look after the community ourselves, and we keep it allowlisted so it stays the kind of place we'd want to play in.
What is Maximus RP?
Maximus RP is a roleplay game: you play one character living one life, and you stay in character the whole time. There are no quests, levels or loot boxes. What happens comes from the players around you and the choices you all make.
The world runs on our own servers and our own code, built for roleplay from the start rather than adapted from another game. That lets us design every system (money, vehicles, injuries, items) around stories instead of around grinding.
What we're building
A grounded city where your character's reputation, money and relationships carry real weight. Crime should feel risky, honest work should feel worthwhile, and the people who run businesses, gangs or departments should be players, not scripts.
We release in stages and test everything with the community first. The roadmap on the home page shows what's in the world now and what's coming next.
Why invite only?
Roleplay works best when everyone is committed to it. One person who's only there to cause trouble can ruin an evening for twenty others, so we review everyone before they join.
A small, allowlisted community also means staff still know the players, reports get looked at properly, and the people you meet in game are people you'll see again.
What we look for
You don't need years of experience. We look for people who have read the rules, can describe characters that fit a believable world, and will treat other players with respect, in character and out of it.
Good applications are honest and specific. Tell us about real moments from your roleplay, including ones that went wrong and what you learned. Copy-pasted or one-line answers are the most common reason applications are turned down.
How applications work
Create an account on this website and send the allowlist application from your account. Staff read every one. You'll see the result on your Applications page, with a message from staff if they left one.
If you're not accepted, the reason is shown with your application and you can apply again after a short cooldown. Once you're allowlisted, you can apply to join the staff or development teams from the same page.
Staff and support
Staff are players too. They handle reports, answer tickets, review applications and keep the servers running. Open a support ticket from your account for anything from account problems to bug reports and player reports.
If you're banned and think it was a mistake, you can still sign in to this website and send a ban appeal. Every appeal is read.
Your account and your data
Your account is one email and password, used for both the game and this website. Turn on two-factor sign-in with an authenticator app or a FIDO2 security key so a stolen password isn't enough to get in.
We store what the game needs to run (your characters, items, money and sign-in history) and use it to keep the game fair. Passwords are never stored in a readable form.
Questions
Is it free?
Yes. Maximus RP is free to play while we're in testing.
What do I need to play?
A Windows PC that can run an Unreal Engine 5 game, a working microphone and an account on this website.
Do I need a microphone?
Yes. Most roleplay happens through voice, and the application asks for a short recording so we know it's clear.
How long do applications take?
Usually a few days. You'll see the result on your account's Applications page; there's no need to chase staff.
My application was turned down. Can I apply again?
Yes, after a short wait. The reason staff gave is shown with your application, so use it to improve the next one.
Can I have more than one character?
Yes, up to three per account. Your characters are separate people: they don't share money, items or knowledge.
Can I stream or record?
Yes, and we'd love to see it. Read the streaming rules first, and never use a stream to gain information in game.
I found a bug. What do I do?
Open a Bug report ticket from your account with what happened and how to make it happen again. Please don't use it in game.
How do I report another player?
Open a Player report ticket with the character names, when it happened and a clip if you have one. Don't call it out in character.
I was banned. Can I appeal?
Yes. Sign in to this website with the banned account and send a ban appeal from the Applications page.
How do I join the staff team?
Once you're allowlisted, the Staff and Developer applications appear on your Applications page.
I need help with something else.
Open a support ticket from your account. Staff answer there.
